Blissful Coding Club Participant Online Permission Form

The Blissful Coding Club’s (Code League) purpose is to provide free education and training in fields of

computer science to students across the United States. Blissful Coding Club (or Code League) is an

initiative of Blissful Us, a New Jersey based registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Blissful Us

Coding Club (Code League) relies on volunteers to provide free education and training online.

Eligibility

Students attending high school and younger in the United States are welcome to participate in the

Blissful Coding Club (Code League).

Online Tools and Resources

Participants will need the use of an internet-connected computer with audio and applicable video-chat

tool (for example, Zoom; Note that Zoom also has specific legal documents for minors available at:

https://zoom.us/docs/en-us/schools-privacy-statement.html) to take part. A quiet, distraction-free

space is also important to participate in the Blissful Coding Club (Code League) under the direct

supervision of an adult, parent or legal guardian.

Many of the tools or educational content utilized by the Blissful Coding Club’s (Code League) are free or

available under open-source license for use by the general public. These tools may have their own legal

terms and conditions and policies concerning their data collection and usage. Please carefully review

each tool as the Blissful Us makes no warranties or representations regarding their practices including

but not limited to privacy and data security.

There are always potential risks involving technology, including, but not limited to internet interruptions

and technical difficulties. These difficulties may interfere with participating in the Blissful Coding Club

(Code League) session. To the extent they occur, Blissful Us and its volunteer instructors will not be able

to help with these difficulties.

Where possible Blissful Us will monitor the activity of the Blissful Coding Club (Code League) sessions

and will make every e􀀀ort to protect participant information by:

• maintaining control of, and access to, the data collected;

• prohibiting re-disclosure, sale or sharing of Blissful Coding Club (Code League) participant

information without prior express written consent by a parent or guardian;

• prohibiting the recording of Blissful Coding Club (Code League) sessions; and

• requiring volunteer instructors and participants to strictly adhere to Blissful Us’ Communications

Policy to ensure proper conduct for all parties involved, available at
